Captains Flat Mine

May 16, 2010

Here are a few photos from a trip out to Captains flat mine. Unfortunately for us, they’ve started demolishing a lot of the old structures, so the place isn’t as interesting as it was a few years ago.

I’m not sure why this dam’s water is green, it didn’t look like algae up close. Edit: This could be a tailings pond, which is toxic waste left over from the process of separating minerals and rock. I’m glad I didn’t go near it.

Have you noticed that a lot of market leaders don’t [...]

Crimson Editor Features

March 21, 2007

Ever since Crimson Editor’s source code was released, I’ve been thinking more about what features would make this fine editor even better. I dont have the experience with C++ to make these changes myself, so hopefully they’ll find their way into the first release of Emerald, the open source text editor based on Crimson.
My Crimson [...]

Hallway Speed Painting

March 17, 2007

I wanted to do another painting in Photoshop to practice light and perspective. The whole painting took around 2 hours. I took screenshots along the way to document it’s progress…
