Who am I

My name is Richard O’Neill and I’m web designer and developer located in Australia. I’ve been building web applications and websites professionally since I was 17, and worked at a few large IT companies.

In 2008 I left my cushy development job to pursue my own freelance career and to see if I was capable of running my own business – Desktop Development. So far I’ve learnt a great deal about business and also made a lot of mistakes. Overall work has been going surprisingly well though!

My skills

First and foremost, my main love is creating large web applications. From AJAX interfaces to object oriented programming, I enjoy every bit of it. This website was originally built for me to write about application development and I’m planning to start doing that again soon.

Photography is also a hobby of mine as you may have noticed. I’m currently using a Canon 400D for all my shots but hopefully I can upgrade to a 5D next year.

Other hobbies include mountain biking, drawing, digital art and writing.
